Waterfalls, Glaciers, and Museums

Our destination this day was Skógar Museum but as per our usual drive, we stopped a many other locations that looked interesting. Although we had seen thousands of waterfalls so far on our trip, there were a few worth the stop along this road. The strong winds prevented any hiking we had hoped to so, but there was so much to see that we did not lack for amusement.

Our Route

The drive between Harfnafjordur and Vik is about 2.5 hours, so round trip, this route is 5 hours. This was a long day and the museums took a few hours alone. We probably spent about an hour at Dyrholaey looking at the rocks and taking photos, and the stops at the waterfalls was usually pretty short. Next to the museum, the longest thing we did was to drive to the glacier along a rough road and then hike around the glacier.
