A Cute Stop in the Westfjords

Litlibær means little farm (bær is farm in Icelandic), and it is found in Skötufjörður which is an easy trip if you are staying in Ísafjörður. Litlibær was built in 1985 and occupied until 1965 by as many as 20 people at a time. As with many of the time and area, the residents lived off of farming and fishing. When we went it was not open, but we were able to walk around on the farm land surrounding it.

Though we could not go in when we stopped by, there was a sign we saw that offered coffee and waffles. We think this place is open for visitors at certain times for lunch or a snack. We happened upon it while driving from the Westfjords to Mývatn and early in our trip we found this at Fjord Skötufjörður in Ísafjarðardjúp.
