General Information

The drive to Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument was very beautiful. There were winding turns up a wooded road that would open up to expose beautiful drop offs with mountains in the background. We stopped a few times to wait for cows to saunter off the road and a few times to take photos.

Visiting the park did not take a long time for the activities we chose. We did the ranger tour of the cliff dwellings, visited the visitor's center, then went to the Trail of the Past to look for pictographs. We originally planned to camp here for the night, but because we finished with plenty of time to spare; we decided to head for White Sands so we would have a full day there the next day.
