The Climbs
Pawtuckaway is a real pretty place to visit, especially in the fall. In the spring, the black flies can be unbearable. The park offers camping, though only at the campground at the main entrance.
Our apologies for the quality of the photos of the rock. We hope they are at least useful in getting a feel for the area.
Lower Slabs
This is a popular area for toproping nice slab climbs. It is easy to get to and hiking around to the top is via an easy and obvious trail. Many people set their top ropes off of the trees which are numerous, but set back a bit, so long slings are advisable. The Dike (5.7) and The Book (5.8) are one of the more popular climbs on this formation and are easy to spot.
Upper Wall
This area has both top roping and a bit of leading. A series of cracks is where you will find Obscene Phone Call (5.6). It really is 5.6, but requires technique and route finding (i.e. knowing when to switch to the other crack). The Roof (5.7) is both a good top rope and a good lead with lots of pro.
